In
today’s world, technology has taken us to some weird places, some places that
we don’t understand. Since the 80’s, we have been the pioneers of this new
wave. In some sense, it scares us. We’re not sure if this is good for mankind
or if it's something that is hurting us, we’re not sure if it’s evolving us or
making us lazy, I don't think lazy is a part of the
evolution to becoming something better but you never know. In some sense, some of us feel we’re
not doing stuff ourselves anymore, we’re simply relying on computers to spell
for us, count for us, entertain us, and in some sense, even run a business for
us. It’s scary to some point when you stand back and look at it. As a kid born
in 1984, it’s scary because most of us 80’s babies can remember a world without
technology and we can clearly see the split.
This post is about the scariness of technology and if it’s advancing us.
Are we teaching it properly or we just saying, “Oh no worries, the computer
will fix it.” Oh no worries, I’ll just Facebook you, Tweet you, or Instagram
you.” Will the language change. BRB IHTRTTS translation I’ll be right back, I
had to run to the store. Will we even be going to the store? “ You want
something from the store? Google Milk and print out the milk please.” The
things I think we’ll miss. The actual touch of a person or the smell of their hair.
Something simple as 8 hugs a day actually causes physical and mental changes in
our body, if technology steps in the way, this could alter human life. Do I
love technology? HELL YEAH. Do I like what it’s doing? Not to sure. What’s your
take on Technology and its future with mankind?
In some ways, I'd rather go back to the time without technology. I want to write novels. Every day. Yet so many social sites get in the way. Back in the 40s when I was a child, a woman could simply write and then send her work to a publisher. Now, there are too many people with the same object in mind. Competition is fierce and all writers need to market their work alone. Back in the days ...
ReplyDeleteI understand that Francene. I like technology because it has advanced us; in the sense that it's made things a tad easier. Like anything, I think people have a tendency to abuse things and take it to the next level. I'm interested but I just hope it advances slowly...lol
DeleteTechnology will never substitute common sense and compassion, IMO.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Helena. As long as we have skin and everything is still human, technology may have a hard time. I think the day man clearly understands emotions is the day computer may have a chance. I don't think man fully will ever understand that because if we did, we would have the power to create life.
DeleteTechnology actually accelerates life's pace rather than slow it down. People are forced to do more and more and receive less in return. The people who want to be lazy and live a simple life (like myself) avoid technology as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I think it accelerates life because I think technology was suppose to evolve buy using the earth's natural tools available to us. Most of our technology is forced energy rather then flow energy....It's kind of what ancient Egyptians were showing us with the pyramids. A lot of their technology was used by earth's magnetic fields and natural electricity that's found in our ground. I think we we're suppose to evolve from that but instead ,as we got further away from spiritual belief, mankind lost connection with earth and our technology became pollution.....I wonder what would've happened if we stayed on the same track?
