Leave the Smoke and clear your Throat

Cigarette smokers: Cigarettes are a stimulant. So with that said, I give you a challenge question, How is it when your stressed, Cigarettes calm you down? If anything, there have been a few studies that show when you smoke cigarettes when stressed, it’s more likely to make you more anxious and make your stress levels shoot up. As a smoker, I do understand that first cigarette of the day, when you inhale and exhale and feel the warm smoke intoxicate your lungs and then all of a sudden, this slight buzz out of the blue overwhelms you and it forces you to smile, letting you know, even if today is going to be shitty, I have cigarettes. So you smile, it’s still early in the morning and the birds are chirping loudly and they sound awesome to you as you take another drag and enjoy the nicotine buzz; the sensation has left you a tad bit tingly and then BAM!! Fast forward four hours.

The boss comes in and tells you, “There was a mistake on the order that was made, the order required 3,000 shirts and somehow, the shipment only sent three; the payments have already been made and your boss is saying the company is blah blah blah…basically your about to get written up and can’t really afford a write up because the next one = fired. You reach for that cigarette, smoke it, but you don’t get that high, you’re still upset, now you chain smoke, still not getting that high, at some point you stop because your throat is probably on fire and sub-consciously you have realized, you just smoked two cigarettes and your still upset, the possibility of getting fired is still there, nothing has changed…and to top it off, you didn’t even get that nicotine buzz you were hoping you got in the morning.

I stopped smoking because it did nothing for me;  like watching a movie and there’s a pointless scene or a pointless character, that’s basically what cigarettes were to me.

If  you really think about it cigarette smokers, why do you smoke? Some say it’s for the taste; which can be hard to break away from because if you like the way something taste, your pretty much hooked. As for the rest of you, I question, why do you smoke? Really question and be honest with yourself;  you don’t have to dig to deep but when your smoking that cigarette, really think what is the point of this? You’re not getting high, (Which is a whole different topic) it does all the wrong things for your health, there expensive, if you wear cologne or perfume, it get’s ruined, what is the purpose? I understand weed, you smoke it, you get high and there’s a reason: to get high. Alcohol: you drink it, get drunk, have fun. Cigarettes: You smoke one and get one nicotine buzz. You smoke a few more and you body chases after that buzz; it never duplicates unless you stop for a few days or have a long enough period between smokes. The challenge: Cigarette smokers trying to quit: Ask yourself why do you smoke? In a stressful moment, have your cigarette break, and on your break, think about if that Cigarette has really relived anything. Your problem is still there but now you smell; You have to go waste, let's say a bottle of perfume/cologne that cost about $50, you have to waste 1.00 a spray to cover up a smell that still lingers; it;s like you sprayed on Camel or Marlboro with an undertone of (Insert fragrance). Think about it smokers...
