Health benefits of Water
A lot of people tend to forget about that one element that embodies who we are and all life on this planet: water. I know it sounds funny to think, but there are a lot of people out there who are dehydrated and will drink Gatorade, lemonade, or any other beverage before a glass of water. Sure, those other beverages contain water, but they also contain other things that will keep one thirsty. In order for one to stay properly hydrated, one must drink 8 glasses of water a day; to some that may sound like a lot but its not when you think about the 32oz soda, 1 liter bottle, or 12 oz can of soda you drink. Those beverages could be replaced with water, less calories, and an over all better appearance. So what can water do for you? I'll show you a few things water can help with.
Skin- A lot of people who neglect to drink water usually have dry skin. Our bodies, a year after birth is 65% water which is a 10% drop from when we were born. As we get older the number begins to change; 60% water (for men) and 55% (for women) so when we fail to drink it, the first thing you'll notice is a constant need to put on lotion or buy high end moisturizing products. Instead of spending a ton of money on product you don't need, remember a case of water is no more than $5. At Sam's Club, they have bottled water, 40 in a case for under $4. If not there, every store sales water at a decent price. Get water. The moisture your high end product claims to lock in, drinking water does the same thing by using moisturizer, which creates a physical barrier by keeping moisture in.
BM- Short for Bowel movement. =) Yes, people who drink less water have a tendency to be constipated all the time. Water helps to break down food and keep you metabolism flowing smoothly. When you don't get enough fluid, the colon pulls water from stool to maintain hydration which results in constipation. If for some reason you can't drink water through out the day, fruits and vegetables like Watermelon, strawberries and etc are foods that contain high amounts of water and can help with one containing water, not to mention, fruits and veggies are high in fiber and also help with BM problems.
Calorie control- Have you ever finished a meal and say to yourself, "I'm still hungry!" It's either one or two things: you're under calorie count or you have not drank enough water. Drinking anything with ones meal can control how much you eat, a glass of water has no calories and you can drink as much as you want until you feel full. Drinking half a liter of water increases metabolism by 24-30% for up to 1.5 hours. Drinking 2 liters of water every day can increase ones energy expenditure up to 96 calories a day.
Hangover- I'm sure everyone knows this by now but for those who don't know, water is your best friend after every alcoholic drink. Usually for every drink you have, it should be accompanied by a glass of water. Alcohol dehydrates you and sucks you dry; water restores that instantly and prevents that pounding feeling in ones head the next morning. My experience showed me water kind of slows you down from taking that next shot or beer; because water makes you full. The chances of you wanting to keep drinking and pissing all night is slim; unless your okay with that. Just remember, if not after every drink, at some point during the night, have a glass or two and a huge glass before you call it a night.
Muscle fuel- Besides protein drinks, water helps fuel the muscles as well. When we sweat, it causes the muscles to lose water; when we don't have enough water our muscles get tired allowing us to do less reps.If you're trying to get that extra rep in and seem to fall short everyday, make sure you're getting in adequate amount of water.
Kidneys- As a guy, the image of trying to pass a STONE through my urethra sounds painful; if you're lucky it might be only one, if you're really lucky, it might be a really small one, something not dreadful, however if you just drink water, it allows the kidneys to do its job and clear away what the body doesn't need. The same rule applies for women but I know us guys can be stubborn at times. Our kidneys process 200 quarts of blood daily, sifting out waste and transporting urine to the bladder. Water is your friend. Save your luck for something else.
Pain prevention- Muscle cramps, aching joints, and strains can occur if the body is dehydrated. Some of us only drink a glass or two a day, which yeah you're drinking water but not enough. Avoid the unnecessary and doctor trips.
Improves mood- Drinking water can make us feel refreshed and improve our mood and state of mind. Mild dehydration is something that most suffer from and can lead to other complications. If one were to combine proper hydration with a healthy diet and exercise, drugs from pharmacies might not be in demand.
Living near water- This doesn't have to do much with us ingesting it but it still deals with the inner part of our body. A few studies have shown that people who live near the coast are more prevalent to good health. The studies aren't sure if its because of the sea air, greenery, or a few more chances to soak up some sunlight but whatever its is, spending time near the water makes us healthier. When you have a moment, take a trip to the beach, listen to the waves crash against the rocks and let the cool mist combined with the warm breeze hit your face. You owe it to yourself.
Swimming- I'm sure by now everyone knows that swimming is the best exercise for you. Swimming works out the whole body and I think I've mentioned before in another post, burns about 500 calories. If you've joined a gym, have a pool, or your local YMCA has a pool, take advantage of swimming.
Water all around can improve our well being, from the mind, physical, and spiritual. Some believe water is were man started so its only natural for us to corrode, deteriorate when water is lacking in our lives. For some people, they feel we're all going to die anyway so what's the point with all the healthy talk. Of course we are going to die but being healthy, kind to yourself is about living life to the fullest and not suffering in agonizing pain. For some, they can lead what others might see as an unhealthy life and that's fine if you lead that life and are not suffering, if anything you're blessed; however not everyone has that luck and if you don't, it's time to look at what changes you can make in order to make this experience we call life, fulfilling. Take notice of your health, even the slightest pains that show up every blue moon could be a sign of something bigger a head; don't ignore it. Hope this list was somewhat informational and if you have any questions or opinions you would like to add, please feel free to leave a comment, also check out my other writes, a lot of them are random but this blog is called "No Title" so any topic can come up. Peace and one love.

Pre Diabetic and Diabetic
The moment one finds out one is pre- diabetic or diabetic, it changes ones life. For some it can be scary
if you don't have an understanding on what changes you would need to make. In recent society, I've notice people get upset with those who are not informed because we have the internet; even with the internet, you still need to know what to look for. It can take some time to find the right information and information that is creditable; info you can take back to your doctor to see if its okay. I believe diabetes can be controlled with proper diet, exercise, herbal medicine, and meditation. We give people insulin to help; I'm not against it because having insulin is amazing, it shows how far technology in our society has gone; we are able to mimic or copy something our body makes. Insulin is a beautiful thing but it's a band-aid, it doesn't teach. In life, man always creates something that nature has already provided for us; now that I've said that, you'll notice every time we create, we find some plant or some mineral that does the same thing. Technology (In my opinion) is made to lead us back to nature, integrate with nature, maybe the mixing of technology and nature might lead to a cure or if anything a better understanding. So today's write is for those who are looking for others ways to combat diabetes or just regulate blood sugar in a more natural and effective way. I'll try to keep the list as short as possible, but the list is to get people started in the right direction, for those not knowing where to start, this might help you. I'm not a doctor, just read a lot of things; if anything check with your doctor before you do any of the things listed.
1. Damiana- Damiana is a wild shrub found in Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. This Ancient Aphrodisiac was used by many tribes, most notably the Aztec tribe as a treatment for sexual dysfunction; this plant is known to kill multiple birds with one stone. The herb can be used to treat headaches, bed wetting, depression, nervous stomach, constipation and it can SEVERELY lower blood sugar. If one is taking any kind of medication to keep diabetes in control, I would check with your doctor before trying this tea. The herb can be taken by capsule, it can be used as a tincture mixed with alcohol or just as a tea, it can also be smoked; when smoked, its been reported that some users get a mild high from the leaf, not as intense as Marijuana but more intense then the light headed feeling you get after smoking a cigarette. Once again, check with your doc and you can look around for other info as well.
2. Marijuana- Marijuana doesn't have to be smoked, it can be ingested multiple ways so for those worried about smoking it, know that this herb can be used in a different manner. There have been a lot of studies showing that the THC in Marijuana is what helps lower the blood sugar, soothes the pain from peripheral neuropathy, and can help with lost of appetite which happens to those who have diabetes. For those who do not have diabetes but have a history of it in their family, there have been a few studies showing that people who smoke on a regular bases have lower fasting insulin levels; some believe the drug itself might actually be turning off the gene connected to diabetes. They might be right but once again, check with your doc before taking anything, especially if you're taking medication.
3. Nopal Cactus- For many diabetics or prediabetics, Nopal is a complete replacement for blood sugar drugs. The plant regulates the blood sugar with no negative side effects like damaging of the liver. Once again, do not throw away any of you medicine prescribed by your doc, simply bring it up and let them know you want to try a more natural alternative. Nopal Cactus can be found at farmer markets, stores such as Sprouts, Whole foods, vitamin stores or check at your local markets in the vitamin section to see if its on the shelves. This cactus was used by many Native American tribes who lived in the desert for thousands of years. The other affects of the plant help with Cholesterol, immune system functions, and bowel. Once again, check with you doc about making the switch.
4. Cigarettes- stop smoking. Nicotine shoots blood sugar up every time you light up. The point of combating diabetes is to keep your blood sugar at a steady level. You don't want spikes in your blood sugar. If you don't quit, you might want to cut back, max five cigarettes every, every, every other day; remember, diabetes is an attack on the cardiovascular system, the blood flow, the heart, smoking just fuels the fire for diabetes and you want to stay away from that.
5. Alcohol: Alcohol does lower blood sugar, nothing wrong with a drink here or there, matter of fact its recommended to have a beer or two or glass a wine every day or every other day. Its when we abuse, that's when blood sugar can drop to very dangerous levels. If you are taking medication you already know the two cannot be combined. I don't recommend alcohol as a treatment especially if you have a history or family history of addiction, however know that this is one way. Diabetics don't have to swear off alcohol but moderation is key especially combined with any of the herbs used above. Once again check with your doctor.
6. Cinnamon- This is the most commercial known herb that can help with lowering blood sugar but if you don't know, you would swear off cinnamon as something you can't eat; only because we think cinnamon and we think about all the tasty things cinnamon combined with sugar make. Cinnamon by itself is nasty. Go ahead, take a spoonful like my dumb ass did and you'll find out quick, "This does not taste like Cinnabon at all!" lol . All jokes aside, they sell cinnamon pills at your local market so you don't have to feel like someone just stuffed 33 cotton balls in your mouth. If you are taking medication, check with your doc.
7. Exercise- It's not a herb but something one should not avoid. Imagine taking a 30 minute walk, hell just even a 20 minute walk in your neighborhood combined with one of the one through six treatments. Take a Nopal pill or drink it as a tea (your choice) take a nice relaxing walk but a vigorous walk, come back home, eat a nice balanced meal, brown rice, veggies, and a lean meat of your choice and mellow out with friends at a local bar; diabetes in check. If you're just interested in exercise and one of the herbal remedies up above, any combination will check diabetes or even turn it off. Cardio workouts are your friend. Swimming, cycling, or simply walking, lifting weights helps with burning off fat, remember exercise is one of the key things. Just a side note, if you think about the root of what exorcism is,casting out demons, exercise, casting out disease, disease comes from negative energy bad lifestyle choices, demons posses negative energy, I can continue on but you make the connection...
8. Meditation- 30 minutes of mindful meditation a day has been proven to lower stress levels; its also been proven to lower blood pressure, which is connected to stress. We've known that for a while but what we didn't know is after just 90 days of meditation, our body starts to turn on and off certain genes. A lot of times we say, "It's in our genes, I can't control it." You can control it. Proper diet, the medicine up above, exercise, and meditation all combined together can combat any disease that comes to the temple. Most of us have heard of the law of attraction, you do it all the time without realizing....repeating today is going to suck means the day is going to suck, lets put everything aside, no energy talk, no universe, just your brain. You already have it in your mind the day is going to suck, subconsciously you're doing things that may jeopardize your happiness. I've had shitty days, but here's the difference, I've always found something in a shitty day, a smile or just my cat being a cat, hell, even when all humans seem to fail me, my imagination alone restores belief, which in turn is an energy I'm omitting. I'm no Guru, I'm far from it, but I do know this, our genes communicate with each other and respond to our environment; look around you, what ever is around probably reflects your mood or even conversation. I'm not going to go to deep but if you are diabetic, pre-diabetic, or carry the gene, try meditation as well...it can't hurt, all you have to do is sit there.
Well I hope this list helps, as stated through out most of the list, check with your doc before trying any of the above (except meditation and smoking) smoking is a bad thing but then again, everything is bad when abused; but please, consult with your doc. I'm not a doctor, I blog and had information to share about a few herbs people may not have been aware of. Thank you for stopping by "No Title" the random blog, feel free to check out my other writes, music I've posted, and more crazy far out thoughts to come in the near future. If I can ask one favor from you, if you can click on the red or green links as your exit out, that's how some of us bloggers get paid. Thank you in advance and one love. =)

Let's get to the core of things
There
are a lot of people who have six pack abs but the question seems to still be
circulating: How do you obtain a six pack? It’s funny because some of the
people who have it really can’t tell you, and the ones who do have it, tell you
but it’s something you may not understand because the answer might be too
advanced if you’re a beginner for fitness; so this in turn leaves people doing
300 crunches and all kinds of sit-ups which yes, it’s not bad for the body but
one must remember, your only making the muscle bigger not really shedding off
the fat.
So
what should one do? There are a few things you can do and it may work. My
cousin who’s pretty fit was the one who told me, “Just run”. I looked at him
like he was crazy a few years ago…but a in those few minutes, it clicked. Just
Run. As I mentioned above, sit-ups, crunches, planks, all of those core
strengthening exercise are just that, they strengthen you’re core. It’s like
lifting weights sure you’ll gain muscle, but will it be the lean cut “I just
came off the scene of an action movie” muscle? Probably not depending on what
kind of weight you lift. Heavy weights = bigger muscles and some weight/fat
loss. Light weight/heavy weight combo= weight loss, muscle gain, and toning;
the body combo most are looking for; however, one can lift heavy and lose
weight depending on what you eat.
I’m
not going to go into the list of what one could eat because that will be a long
list; but I have a post Called Good health foods, I did back in
February showing five foods that can get you started. Remember this, 70% diet,
30% workout. If you want your stomach muscle to show, just keep running. I’m
not saying completely cut out sit-ups, planks, any other core exercise but eat
right and go with cardio for a bit. The key is getting fat out of your mid
section and cardio will do that. I know cardio sucks and when you’re jogging or
running, it burns and the last thing on one’s mind is paying attention to the
body but if you can, pay attention to what muscles are at work when you’re
running or doing any cardio; including swimming for those who hate running.
One’s abs are at constant work when running or swimming and in turn heating up
the core section and burning off the fat; now if one eats right each day,
you’ll start to see some results. Give it a shot…everyone’s body is different
but some things are a must.

Just an observation
A
lot of us are worried that we don’t know what they put in our food; I think the
biggest stop to that is to eat less meat. Our chickens and cows are getting pumped with steroids and being bred for mass production. If
they were to let a cow or chicken grow naturally, that would take longer and
well, “we don’t have that kind of time” when it comes down to eating, we need
our food now. Big business created a way to speed up the process. We live in a
time of now. We want everything now. We want to be able to go to the store and
purchase meat without having to think about it; so slaughter houses and GMO was
created. This is what we asked for isn’t it?
Not really, we didn’t want that, we just want to make sure there’s an
abundance of food at will. I feel this can happen but we as the people need to
figure out a way; I think the way is by eating less meat. For example, have you ever
been to the market and spent close to $200 dollars or more on food, just to
turn around and go buy fast food? I’m sure you have, I know I have. I understand, usually it’s later in
the day when you go shopping and if you have kids, time begins to run short; ordering fast food kills multiple birds with one stone, no
pun intended.
We have all these fast food
chains with long lines, fast food spots and restaurants open 24 hours with an abundance of people in them; then you turn around and find yourself in
long lines at the grocery store? I live in a metropolitan so that could be
the results of too many people but you think at some point, something would be
kind of empty right?
My point: There’s probably two
pounds of hamburger meat or less in one’s freezer yet were still out buying a
hamburger or something along those lines. Eat less meat and the genocide of our food
will stop. We’ll eventually start to see farmers come back into business and
guess what? I believe the rate of
diabetes will (in my Beastie boys voice) DRROOPP. The one thing our ancient
societies believed in was balance. The indigenous people and many other
cultures believed in balance; they didn’t rape the land. This also ties into money. If you have noticed, the
middle class is slowly starting to disappear and the rich have become overly
abundant in money; the new middle class means you’re a millionaire. I’m not going into that, that’s
a whole new post on it‘s own but it’s something you might want to chew the fat
on. Money, food, these things are tied together to business and lifestyle; we
are all connected and disconnected at the same time. Eat less meat with your
meal, there are tons of foods out there that have protein and I’ll
show you a few right now in case you’re wondering
1. Eggs
2. Cottage Cheese
3. Quinoa
4. Pumpkin seeds
5. Dried beans
6. Soy milk (or just milk or Lactose milk if needed)
7. Greek yogurt
8. Peanut Butter
9. Almonds
10. Wild rice
These
10 foods if consumed throughout the day can help with protein. If
one were to eat meat in the morning, and maybe eat meat at night, the rest of ones day could consist of the foods listed above. One does not have to become a vegan or vegetarian, just eat less meat. I might be wrong but I'm almost sure less meat would stop or slow down the slaughter and hormone pumping of our food...eh what do I know, I'm just a blogger. (No Sarcasm, actual truth) lol.
